A guided onboarding overhaul: dashboard checklist and first-flow quickstart
Onboarding got a major upgrade this week. Instead of a "you're in, good luck" experience, new accounts now get a guided path from signup to their first send. Two big additions drive it.
TL;DR: The home dashboard now shows a seven-step readiness checklist that maps your path from signup to sending email: Connect your email, Complete your profile, Finish the walkthrough, Create your first flow, Activate a flow, Schedule your first send, and Update your subscription. Each step shows a clear description of what to do next, items get a green check as you complete them, and a "Next action" panel calls out the single most important thing to tackle right now. New accounts also get a quickstart that nudges them straight into their first flow after the walkthrough — so the path from "logged in" to "running a real campaign" is one continuous flow, not a scavenger hunt.
A readiness checklist that maps your path to sending
The home dashboard now greets new accounts with a card showing seven checklist items: Connect your email, Complete your profile, Finish the walkthrough, Create your first flow, Activate a flow, Schedule your first send, and Update your subscription. Each item shows a plain-English description of what it's asking for. Done items get a green check; outstanding items show a hollow circle. There's also a Next action panel that calls out the single most important step you should do right now, with a label and a short description so you don't have to figure out what to prioritize.
The checklist isn't just a static list — it's wired up to your actual account state. Connect a mailbox, the item turns green. Complete your profile, the next action shifts to whatever's most useful next. The whole thing keeps the path from signup to first send visible at a glance, every time you land on the dashboard.
A quickstart that takes you straight into your first flow
If you finish the walkthrough but don't immediately start building a flow, the dashboard offers a quickstart that points you straight into a guided "build your first flow" mode. The trigger is contextual: it checks where you are in setup and only fires when it'll actually help, so you're not nagged if you'd rather poke around on your own.
The quickstart pairs with the readiness checklist — together they make the path from signup to first send one continuous flow instead of a series of disconnected screens. New accounts that used to drift in the gap between "I signed up" and "I sent my first email" now have a clear next step at every moment.
If you've been putting off your first send, log in — the new checklist gives you the shortest path. Start your free trial if you're not already a customer.
